FAQ

  1. What is DPS?

    • DPS stands for Delivery Point Sequencing. It consists of letter mail sorted into delivery order for the route. However, the sorting machines are imperfect, and letter carriers often must fix DPS while delivering.
  2. What is RRECS?

    • RRECS stands for Rural Route Evaluated Compensation System. The NRLCA (rural carrier union) and the USPS agreed to create RRECS as a result of the 2012 Clarke arbitration ruling. It was supposed to take 3 years to implement. But here we are, 7+ years past the deadline. RRECS is still full of holes, and the USPS and NRLCA seem to be making up the rules as they go.
